My great grandmother Julie provided more evidence that her slave master did not teach her how to live free with good family organization and family life

Hi everyone,

Great Grandmother Julie exhibited lack of receiving training in family life and organization.

As you know, Great Grandmother Julie had a lot of illegitimacy family training in slavery, but she was fortunate not to be mated and did not choose a mate. When she was freed, she was childless, but she didn’t have any training in family organization and family life. Hence, after she was freed in 1861, two years before the Emancipation Proclamation, one of Great Grandmother Julie’s passions was her love life. She mostly enjoyed love life with different Negro men and gave birth, out-of-wedlock, to two sons, Great Uncle Charlie Moore and Great Uncle Abe Shaw, for that is mostly what she saw in slavery, with the exception of back-breaking labor.

Yet, for all of us, it usually takes family life organization and family life training to prevent illegitimate births, fights between husbands and wives, loving spouses, and obedient children.
