Hi everyone,
The dozen Shaw children paired off.
Daddy's two sisters paired off, and the ten brothers paired off. Pairing was based on age. Hence, the two brothers, closest in age, were best friends. For example, Daddy and Uncle Gilbert were the oldest and were best friends. Everyone was taught to love each other. Regardless of each child's best sibling friend, they were not allowed to argue and fight each other. Though Daddy was never in either, all his brothers fought each other. When they did and Granddaddy and Grand Mama found out, they whipped them because they wanted their children to be best friends forever.
Indeed, my grandparents suggest how to keep siblings best friends, forever, and my daddy and his siblings were that way, and in old age, they all needed each other.
